“Particularly now, as people are still reeling from the negative impact COVID-19 has had on finances, seasonal jobs are an attractive option not only to help alleviate the pressure of the holiday season, but also help workers get back on their feet,” said Sara Sutton, Founder and CEO of FlexJobs.
BOULDER, Colo. (PRWEB) October 26, 2020
With fall underway, companies have begun the recruiting, hiring, and training of seasonal workers to meet the demands of the upcoming holiday season. This year, seasonal hiring is quite different due to the pandemic, as shoppers are spending more time shopping online and opting for home delivery and curbside pickup. For many businesses, the need for remote workers has increased to keep up with the online demand. To help job seekers interested in finding seasonal work this fall and winter, FlexJobs has identified the 13 companies that are currently recruiting workers for remote seasonal jobs. Examples of remote seasonal jobs that are currently hiring include customer service representative, enrollment specialist, project manager, tax expert, and vendor operations coordinator.
“Particularly right now, as people are still reeling from the negative impact COVID-19 has had on personal finances, seasonal jobs are an attractive option not only to help alleviate the pressure of the cash-strapped holiday season, but also help workers get back on their feet and potentially transition from seasonal work to full-time employment,” said Sara Sutton, Founder and CEO of FlexJobs. “The good news for job seekers is that many factors are increasing the demand for seasonal workers, as well as driving up their wages in many cases,” Sutton concluded.
Through the years, FlexJobs has seen a variety of companies hiring for remote temporary, seasonal, and holiday jobs. Many work-from-home holiday jobs are in the customer service and retail fields, but there are also great jobs in the education, finance, and human resources fields.

FlexJobs’ career coaching team has outlined the tips below to help secure a remote seasonal job:
1. The earlier you start looking, the better! While the holidays are still a couple months away, hiring for seasonal jobs is happening now. It will continue through November, but if you start early, you have a better chance of landing a seasonal job you’re really interested in.
2. Make sure to highlight any previous remote work experience on your resume or application materials. Even if it was only occasional remote work, or remote education, or if it was unpaid volunteer work you did from home, it still counts. It’s really important to gear your resume specifically towards remote work when you’re applying for remote jobs, rather than using the same resume you’d use for an in-office job.
3. Three ways to highlight your remote work experience and talents on your resume: 1) State it clearly. List “Remote Work” next to your job title. 2) Include it in the descriptions of your past jobs, and 3) build it into your skills section. For example, make sure you talk about the types of skills it takes to be a successful remote worker – time and task management, communication, self-management, the ability to work independently, and comfort with technology are some of the top skills employers like to see when hiring for remote jobs.
In addition, FlexJobs has identified 21 higher-paying side jobs which are excellent options for earning supplemental income during the holiday season.
