Gender inequality still persists in many workplaces and industries, and flexible work options, like the ability to work from home, can do a lot to foster more equality at work.

Here are some of the gender parity-related advantages of working from home:

  1. In a remote company, the focus is on results, not time-in-seat.
  2. Remote companies don’t adhere to traditional notions of what leadership “looks like.”
  3. Remote work minimizes the forced choice between work and family.
  4. Remote companies create more space to handle conflicting work-life responsibilities.
  5. Remote work creates a more level playing field for all professionals to balance work and life goals.

According to an IBM survey 58% of individuals would like “fully remote” to be their primary way of working post-Covid-19. Before March of this year, many companies may have been reluctant to trust workers to be productive in a fully remote capacity. But quarantine has forced the issue. Now employers are seeing that not only can employees be productive when working from home, they can also be happier.
